John graduated from Melbourne University in 1976, and after working in mixed practice he relocated back to Gippsland in 1979, where he was employed by Traralgon Vet Centre. John eventually purchased the business in 1983 and then took on a partner in 2005. John enjoys mixed practice and has a valued interest in equine where he has been regularly treating Gippsland horses for a number of years. John is married and has 4 children and 3 grandchildren, he has a passion for racehorses and is pictured here with one of his thoroughbred horses.

Dr. Garth Jackson

Garth Jackson graduated from Melbourne University in 1995.

After graduating Garth worked at Numurkah Veterinary Clinic for a number of years before relocating back to Gippsland. He has since worked at Traralgon Vet Centre and has become a partner. Garth has a love of large animals and is particularly interested in Bovine work. Garth is regularly found to be preg testing cattle. Garth is married and has 2 children and lives on a 300 acre beef farm.

Sandi graduated from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Müenchen Germany as a veterinary surgeon. In 1996 she undertook the National Veterinary Examination for Australia and began her employment at Traralgon Veterinary Centre for Dr. John Plozza shortly afterwards. Outside of work Sandi assists in managing her family dairy and beef farm in Nambrok, along with her husband and two teenage children. Sandi performs the majority of the veterinary services required on the family farm such as treating sick cows, assisting with calvings, repairing prolapses and rearing calves. Sandi is extremely passionate about furthering her education and is constantly undertaking further studies.

Dr. Katrin Sievers

Katrin joined our team in November 2013 as a small and large animal veterinarian. Katrin was born and raised in Namibia, Africa, before journeying to Australia to undertake her veterinary science degree at the University of Melbourne. Outside of work Katrin manages a 250 acre dorper sheep stud along with her husband and two daughters, with the help of a team of Maremmas!

Ashley joined our team in early 2015 as a small and large animal veterinarian. He is originally from the UK and grew up in Hong Kong. Ashley graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science, with honours in equine dentistry in 2010. He went on to complete his veterinary studies at the University of Melbourne in 2014. Prior to graduating, Ash worked as a veterinary assistant and nurse for Dr. Robin Stanley at Animal Eye Care. Outside of work, Ashley is a keen horse rider and an avid photographer.

Tegan joined the team in early 2017 as a small and large animal veterinarian, with a keen interest in cattle. Tegan graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Whilst studying at university she worked as a veterinary nurse at Cheltenham Veterinary Clinic. Outside of work Tegan enjoys spending her time bike riding, swimming and reading novels.

Jane Sultana

Jane is the clinic’s practice manager and handles the finances and general day-to-day running of the clinic amongst many other things. She has been with the clinic since 2005 and although most of her work is behind-the-scenes, she can be found assisting in the reception area as well as giving a hand with emergency situations. Jane has witnessed numerous changes at the clinic from moving from the old Stock Supplies building into the new clinic to the formation of the Traralgon Veterinary Centre partnership of Dr. John Plozza and Dr. Garth Jackson.  Jane lives near Yinnar and spends most of her time driving her 2 teenage boys around!!

Hayley joined our team in mid 2015 as a qualified veterinary nurse and is responsible for supervising the clinic hospital and surgery cases. She has also completed a certificate in equine industry and in retail services as well as short courses in equine nutrition, cardiovascular systems and diseases in cats & dogs and wound healing. Hayley has been working as a veterinary nurse since 2012 and has experience as a hospital, surgical and equine nurse.

Colleen joined our team in early 2015 as a qualified veterinary nurse having completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Colleen has also completed short courses in advanced anaesthesia monitoring and cardiovascular systems and diseases in cats & dogs. Colleen has been working as a veterinary nurse throughout the district since 2006 and is an experienced hospital and surgical nurse.
